Are there any other similar issuers?

Previously, there was an international (ex-SA) issuer who is now unable to issue cards to local entities in South Africa. This is due to a change in the SARB regulations back in 2020.

Why were previous issuers able to offer high rebates?

The previous international issuer issued its cards in the UK and they forced a very high charge which was carried by the suppliers. This is one of the reasons why it was not very popular with suppliers.

Many suppliers had an issue with Virtual cards - why is Glyde different?

Many virtual cards add additional margins to their cards which were carried by the suppliers/ merchants acquiring the cards.

Glyde offers a card that has the same or better rate than a regular Consumer/Corporate card.

Glyde believes in a win-win environment where both suppliers and merchants benefit from the transaction.

How long does it take to set up a Glyde account?

Depending on the model for integration, it can take anywhere from a week to 4 weeks.

What about IATA 890 resolution concerns?

The bank account from which cards are issued runs off a pool account that is not in the name of the agency much like eNett and other fintech companies.

This means that the payments made against cards issued from this pool are complaint with IATA 890.
